people-book compared

people-book, Famileo, FamilyAlbum, Nextcloud: which one for your group.

Three of these four products are good. They are simply not built for thirty adults who write, argue and vote.

Famileo

A paper gazette for grandparents.

Famileo turns family messages into a printed paper, around 5,99 to 9,99 € a month. For a grandparent with no screen, it is exactly right.

It is not a place where thirty friends write the account of a weekend. And the archive stays paper.

FamilyAlbum

Built for babies, on mobile.

FamilyAlbum and Mitene keep a child's photos beautifully, in an app, with short captions.

There are no Articles, no shared Agenda and no Polls, and the shape assumes parents rather than a group of friends.

Nextcloud

Philosophically right, practically heavy.

A Nextcloud or HumHub of your own is the ideal: your machine, your rules, no middleman.

But somebody becomes the administrator, for life. The day that person gets bored, the group's memory goes dark.

people-book

For ten to forty adults, with no administrator.

One payment of 49 €, twelve months, the whole group. Albums, Articles, Agenda, Polls, and nothing more.

Nobody maintains anything, and the one-click export means choosing us locks nobody in.

Asked and answered
Are these prices current?
They are the public prices we saw. Check with them before you buy.
Why no subscription?
Because a memory should not depend on a forgotten direct debit.
What if we want our own server?
Leave with the full export. A self-host bundle comes later.
What is missing here?
The mobile app and video. We write that on every page.
